  • Always Modding the Mod !!!
got change according to my research was the first to do this mod to the Av...
As far as I can tell only one other CAFCNA member stated intentions to do it...but never posted or showed pics if he did.

The first pic is got changes Av...

The second pic is a close up of the mod...

The third pic is a poorly photoshopped version of what it might look like on I CHNGE

Do you like the looks?

I should mention that when got change did this mod to his first Av...the 1500...he did it to both sides...

So when you look at the first two pics...the top one is of the passenger side...

The second one is of the drivers side...

got change now owns a 2500 Av and has only done this mod to the passenger side...

This is how I am thinking of doing it...one side only...passenger side...

  • Bling on an off road vehicle? Why?
OK Cliff, remember, you ASKED for an opinion, so here's mine.
If your AV was lowered on 24's, that would be a sweet mod. Kind of a cool bling thing.
But you are lifted. So rugged is the flavor of the day.
Chrome don't get you home is the off road motto.
I vote no, but that's MY opinion.

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Personally I like it but for you and your AV I wish there was another color other than chrome. Now if you said you have intentions on black chroming it, the I would say hell yeah go for it!

Thank you Rik...that is just the kind of response I was looking for...and I am NOT trying to change your mind...

But I want to ask you this...but first I totally agree on the Chrome thingy...matter of fact there isn't much Chrome on the
I CHNGE and I have been keeping it off for the very reason you mention...

However, could you forget the finish for a second or at least consider the same thing in black (you got ahead of me Ro)...

I was looking at it as an offroad thing in this regard...higher off the ground than pipes under the body...hence an enhancement in water crossings...and...being above the lower portion of the body it is removed as an obstuction from large rocks or debris one might "climb" over when offroad...I dunno...for some reason it looked to me to be an offroad enhancement similar to the snorkle some add to offroad trucks...but in the back instead...

Also...I know it's just the angle of the light...but when you look at the first pic I posted of got changes Av...the inside area of the bezel that surrounds the outlet pipes appears BLACK !!!
It's not...but seems to be from the shadows.  So I thought about changing the color of the whole thing to black...

So...with that caveat in mind...still no?

And Yes Ro...a really black, black Chrome like my old fuel door used to be would be a subtle color and help it "disappear" or at least blend into the body...

If I do it and I really am undecided...Black Chrome or Black Hi-Temp powdercoat would be the "order of the day"...

Then if it were black, especially textured black like the cladding it would work well.
Just the theme of your truck is great without the chrome stuff.
Ro's AV looks good with chrome, so that would look good on his.
But with all that black it has a "stealthy" look.
It would be even nicer if you could do it on both sides with dual exhaust.
I really like the way your AV looks now. I'm jealous. Mine looks so stock.

In that case, hell yea this mod would look great on your AV   :woot:   :yourock:    do it!   :banan-hit:

As far as whether to go dual or single.  I like the dual look, but I hesitate only because I did a dual exhaust set up before on my 2000 Silverado and felt I loss back pressure.  So for functionality sake, the single works best and would still look great on your AV!

Your performance suffered by doing a dual exhaust? Did they do a crossover pipe?

I like the look of the tow pipes in the opening, but for balance I would do both sides is what I meant.
But just the one side I guess would be fine since you can only see one side at a time.
